Our client, a leader in municipal infrastructure, is seeking a Project Civil Engineer to spearhead water, wastewater, and stormwater projects in the Chicago Metropolitan region.
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the design of critical systems from concept through permitting, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and deliver projects that prioritize sustainability and client success. What You’ll Do
As the lead Project Civil Engineer, your work will shape the future:
Design water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems, including pump stations and regional detention facilities.
Perform hydraulic calculations, modeling, and pump sizing to ensure system efficiency.
Produce plans, specifications, and technical reports for permitting and construction.
Coordinate with utilities, contractors, property owners, and agencies like Cook County DOTH and MWRD.
Collaborate with senior staff on calculations, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.
Ensure compliance with IDOT standards and municipal roadway design criteria.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a skilled engineer ready to excel:
Technical Expertise: Experience designing pressurized water distribution and gravity sewer/stormwater systems. Municipal roadway design experience is a plus.
Software Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Autodesk/Bentley CAD, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, XPSWMM, and ArcGIS.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required). Advanced degrees or roadway design experience preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in water/wastewater/stormwater design; 5–10 years preferred.
Licensure: Illinois F.E. required; Illinois P.E. (or ability to obtain within 12 months) preferred.
Location: Must reside in the Chicago Metro area with a valid IL driver’s license.
